Art Central and its Lead Partner, UOB, announce today the highlight galleries and artists presenting at its ninth edition, which will take place from 28 to 31 March 2024, with a preview day on 27 March. With a brand-new gallery sector, over one-third of galleries joining for the first time and with the largest number of solo artist presentations to date, the 2024 Fair reinforces its position as the destination for discovery during Hong Kong Art Week 2024.

Art Central 2024 features 95 galleries, with 70% from Asia and nearly a third operating spaces in Hong Kong. This year’s edition of Art Central will also see the strongest-ever representation of artists from Mainland China.

Art Central 2024 will take place in an architect-designed bespoke, purpose-built structure on Hong Kong’s iconic Central Harbourfront. Established as a cornerstone event of the annual Hong Kong Art Week, Art Central is a trusted international platform for discovering distinguished galleries from Asia and worldwide alongside cutting-edge works by emerging artists. Now in its ninth edition, Art Central 2024 returns to full size and its original location and presents the Fair’s most extensive programming and cutting-edge gallery selection to date.

NEW GALLERY SECTOR
Dedicated to showcasing the next generation of talent, Art Central launches Neo, a new sector curated by the Fair’s 2024 Curatorial Advisor, Enoch Cheng. Neo presents a curated selection of galleries participating in the Fair for the first time showing new or as yet undiscovered artists, strengthening the Fair’s commitment as an influential incubator for artists and galleries.

Eleven galleries and 15 artists have been selected to take part in the sector’s debut at the Fair. The full list of participating Neo galleries is: BFM Art Center (established in Suzhou, 2021); biscuit gallery (established in Tokyo, 2021); Cub_ism_ Artspace (established in Shanghai, 2020); EYECANDIES (established in Shanghai, 2019); Gallery Palzo (established in Cheongdo, 2010, and Daegu, 2022); Gallery Project K (established in Seoul, 2021); PBG (established in Seoul, 2021); ThisWeekendRoom (established in Seoul, 2015); V&E Art (established in Taipei, 2018); wamono art (established in Hong Kong and Tokyo, 2016) and Warin Lab Contemporary (established in Bangkok, 2021).

Showcasing a sweeping array of artwork and programming from many of Asia’s most innovative galleries, as well as distinguished artists from around the globe, Art Central’s galleries have been selected for their thought-provoking programming and long-term commitment to their artists.
